Le Printemps by Jean-François Millet

Hello ART day! Today is a painting by Millet, I'm normally not a big fan of his but this piece is just amazing. The colours and the story that lies in this painting is breathtaking. This beautiful work of art is at musée d'orsay now, so any of you visiting Paris, don't forget to check it out! That's all for my weekly ART day today...see you next time!

ACNE Joli Boots
Topshop Gem Shirt

Rachel Comey Suede Top
Topshop Suede Shorts

Chloé dream shoes (the black pair)

American Apparel Chiffon Skirt
Le Mont St. Michel Dress

This is definitely a "wish"list. I'm so in love with these...arghhh why is my bank account empty? La Garçonne is one of my favourite online stores, they sell such simple but très chic pieces! I wish to own every single piece from the shop!! Oh, to all of you who shop on Urban Outfitters, I just noticed that they ship now all over the globe! I'm so happy! They have a much better collection than the EU store, but they used to ship to only the US and Canada... Now I don't have to dream about moving to NYC everyday!  Share with me your favourite stores online!

Vogue US Sept. 2010 Lara Stone by Mert and Marcus (Fashion Gone Rogue)
I'm normally not a fan of Lara Stone, but this editorial here is just GORGEOUS! The soft colours of both the backgrounds and the clothes just make the perfect match. Grace Coddington is just amazing. Without her, I really don't know what Vogue US would become....probably full of dull celebrity eds. By the way, all I'm seeing/hearing on TV these days is Katy Perry's Teenage Dream...is this normal? Anyway, it's making me want to dance and partyyyyy...Cali style!

Bonne Soirée les filles!

Paris, je t'aime.

Paris is a magical place with plenty of secrets.
Here's my brief guide on the city.
(Sorry for the lack of photos)
REMINDER: This is only the first of many to come!

FOOD

café angelina - mont blanc and chocolat chaud!
226, rue de rivoli, 75001 Paris
tip: take out so you don't have to queue and save 2 euros on price difference! Your chocolat chaud won't have chantilly on top but you can sit in tuileries and enjoy the sun!

Pierre Hermé - tarte vanille

http://www.pierreherme.com/
everyone knows PH for his macarons, but personally I prefer his tarte vanille much more than any other "it" items. Although it's super cher, trust me it's worth it!
tip: if you only want PH's macarons, you can visit Galeries Lafayette, there's no queue there.

Ladurée - Pistache flavoured macarons
http://www.laduree.fr/
my favourite maison for macarons. No one can beat ladurée in my opinion. Pistache, hands down, my only choice for macarons.
tip: only want macarons? visit Printemps!

Fauchon - Croissants
24-26 Place de la Madeleine
My absolute favourite croissant in the whole city! It's a bit pricey but so worth it!

Bonne Maman - Madeleines
It's a supermarket brand that is cheap and good.

Chez Gladines
30, rue des cinq diamants, 75013 Paris
The restaurant is famous for it's Basque cuisine. It's really affordable and the staff are very friendly.

Higuma - Japanese Ramen
32, Rue Sainte-Anne, 75001 Paris
Again, cheap and always a queue.

Myung-Ka - Korean Food
19 Boulevard Garibaldi, 75015 Paris
This restaurant is quite close to where I used to live. It's a small resto run by Koreans. They have lunch menus which are cheaper.

Rue Mouffetard
This street is where you'll find delis, sunday markets, crêperies and tons of restaurants. It's a place where French, Parisiens and of course, tourists gather to enjoy some decent and fresh food.

Berthillon - Marron flavoured Ice Cream
29-31 rue Saint Louis en l'Ile, 75004 Paris
It's said to be the best ice cream in town. I wouldn't disagree. However, some of my friends do prefer Amorino over Berthillon. Look out for the queue and they often close...at least I went there a few times and they were closed...boohoo.

Amorino - Pistache flavoured Ice Cream
www.amorino.com
This shop is everywhere, so check out their site for precise address. I love Amorino for their pistache flavour. They put icecream into a flower shape where you can choose up to 4 flavours at once. But I always choose on flavour only, and girls! You can add Chantilly on top of your icecream! What a sin I know, but mon dieu it's amazing!

Le Comptoir
3 Carrefour de l'Odeon, 75006 Paris
This resto was recommended to me by a friend. It's really nice. They serve brasserie styled lunch and dégustation like dinners. You can try to reserve for dinner but you should do it 1-2 months beforehand. As for lunch, they don't accept reservations.

Chez Nenesse
17 Rue de Saintonge, 75003 Paris
This cute little resto is situated in Le Marais, a perfect place to chill after shopping. On Thursday lunchtime, they have a special plate which is fries. I haven't really been there for this yet, but I've heard there's always a queue. Even if you don't go for the fries, you can always try their nice homemade cuisine.

L'as du Fallafel
34 Rue des Rosiers, 75004 Paris
After being disappointed by Kebabs in Paris, Fallafels seemed to be a good alternative. It's really filling and quite good at times, not to mention it's 5 euros only! (7 if you eat in). There are so many Fallafel shops on the same street so look for the one with the green sign! It's the best!

La Pâtisserie des rêves
93 rue du Bac, 75007 Paris
le paris-brest...AMAZING!

It's getting quite tiring this post.
Probably I'll update some more info in the future, but that'll be all for now...for food that is! Hope you like it!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate, just ask!
will do a shopping post soon! Stay tuned!

la femme et les roses - Marc Chagall

To me, this blog is much more than a fashion/style blog. It's more of a mixture of who I am in general, like, as a person. So there's going to be a wide range of categories such as art, traveling, lifestyle and music...! Hope you'll enjoy!

Okay, as you can see the theme today is ART. Everyone has their preferences and perspectives so I'm not here to judge or to be judged.

Marc Chagall is definitely one of my favourites. He paints a dream, a dream so big and intriguing that it's breathtaking to stare at for a whole day. I chose "la femme et les roses" today, because it really represents how I'm feeling at the moment. I wish someday I'll be able to collect artwork...yes, I dream BIG

Bon Weekend!

I love The Row! They make such simple, chic and really easy to wear clothes! Girls, you can shop online now! For those who love the brand but can't afford it (like moi), visit COS! They make lovely clothes as well, really simple and Scandinavian chic! But they're only open in certain countries in Europe, visit them online as well!
